About Christopher
Hi, I’m Christopher Dean and I’m glad you’re here checking out my freelance website. Let me tell you a little about myself…
I graduated from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. I originally wanted to get into film-making or screenwriting, but by the time I registered for classes, only a few options were open. One was liberation theology, which didn’t interest me at all, and the other was Japanese Language and Culture.
I picked the Japanese route. I’ve always had a way with languages and writing. I learned Japanese relatively easily and had a great time doing it. The best part of my college experience was a living with a family in small-town Japan for a few months and doing a year-long exchange in Kobe.
During the exchange my interest in entrepreneurship and business developed. Back in the States I got a job in sales and management with Hertz Corporation. This gave me solid, real-world experience in how to sell. At the same time, I freelanced for some friends of mine.
That’s how I got into copywriting in the first place. I knew a couple of graphic designers who thought copywriting would be a good fit for me. I always had a knack for writing, so why not apply that skill to advertising?
“I love what I do…”
Writing for a living is great. But what I really enjoy is helping people. There’s nothing more satisfying than a client’s excitement over something I’ve written for them.
And I’m hoping that I’ll get a chance to share that excitement with you.
